Appointments with a nurse may be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. Appointments are available for ear-syringing, childhood immunisations, dressings, cervical smears etc. Nurses also do health checks for the contraceptive pill, new patient checks and annual checks for some chronic diseases such as Asthma, COPD and Cardiovascular disease. Each nurse specialises in a separate area, so it would be helpful if you are able to let the receptionist know what you are booking for. We also offer NHS healthchecks, please enquire at reception for further information. We regret that we are unable to help with Travel vaccinations and only supply those vaccines available on the NHS - Hep A, Typhoid, Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio, Cholera (where applicable).

A Phlebotomist is available Monday to Thursday for blood testing.

Smoking cessation
If you currently smoke and are trying to quit, please book an appointment with our Healthcare Assistant, Judith to discuss options. We also have details in surgery of group sessions run in Cambridge by CAMQUIT. Please ask at reception for an information leaflet or to book an appointment. We have a very good track record in helping people to quit!

The community midwife holds an antenatal clinic in the surgery every Thursday.

Child Health
Dr Holt does 6 week & 8 month baby health checks. Please call reception once you get a card from Child Health telling you when to book. Childhood immunisations are done by the Practice Nurse. You will be informed via Child Health when your child is due.

Chlamydia Screening
We offer a very simple screening service for Chlamydia. If you are sexually active and under 25 you should be tested for chlamydia annually. Please contact the surgery for more information or talk to the practice nurse for confidential and friendly advice.

Urine Samples
An early morning sample is best for testing. Please use a sample bottle, clearly labelled with name and date of birth and fill in the accompanying form. Please bring your sample to the surgery before 11.30am so processing can take place after morning surgery. We will contact you if an urgent problem arises, but if you haven't heard from us please call between 4-5pm to speak to a nurse. Only urgent samples can be processed in the afternoon. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
